Emilie Lierre: The First Winter

Life on the road and the cold winter months.

I always say I'm going to get good at doing blogs and then..... nothing. So while I build this website from scratch I thought I'd come and write a little on life at the minute. It's officially a year since I've had Tink. I absolutely love this nomadic life. Its been an interesting winter but it was a lot easier than I had thought it would be! Luckily having the log burner onboard, there isn't too much to worry about! I knew I'd always be warm! I did learn how much that would dry my skin out through! I began to think that I'd look ten years older by the time I get out the van and spreading music over the festival season hahahaha. I suppose, in life there are always pros and cons! I will take the heat over the cold!

I turned Tink into a little nest. Added a double duvet over the alleyway, as a lot of cold was coming through there. I was given Silvia, the sheepskin rug, to keep my feet warm! What a difference she made! I took the fridge out as the van was cold enough for keeping food chilled, in place of this I put jumpers and all things comfy! Tink was as cute as ever! Now one problem that did arise was my leisure battery not charging/dying. I was sat in the dark for a few months, then I bought a new one.... lasted me a month hahahaha I'm now back in the dark buuuuut, with finding my love for vanlife, I have booked to get Tink some solar panels! This is being done at the end of April. Until then, yes, I'm in the dark, using my phone torch for light hahaha but it gives you perspective. I'll be all the more grateful when I can turn my lights on ha!

The spring is now officially here! I don't know about you but I'm rather happy about this! Finally everything is starting to come alive again! I hope you have all made it through the winter in one piece. I look forward to seeing you all very soon! Until then, much love to you all!!
